Abstract
1508158 Colour anodizing aluminium RIKEN KEIKINZOKU KOGYO KK 4 Nov 1975 [5 Nov 1974] 45708/75 Heading C7B Al (alloy) is colour-anodized in 8-30 wt. per cent H 2 SO 4 containing 3-5 g/l Al<SP>3+</SP> as a resistivity control agent using pulsating voltage with peaks of 25-45 V and a duration of 5-70 m sec. The ratio of pulse frequency (per m. sec) to duration is 2-7, and the current density may be 2-8 A/dm<SP>2</SP>. The Al alloy may contain Zn and Mg in a Zn/Mg ratio < 5. Conventional washing and degreasing are used, but pre-etching in NaOH may be omitted. Pulses of alternating polarity may be used.
