Abstract

1506442 Collapsible tubes PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 14 July 1975 [17 July 1974] 29494/75 Heading B8D A collapsible dispensing container comprises a tubular body 21 having a longitudinal partition wall 26 whose upper edge is recessed in relation to the upper edge of the exterior wall 27 of the body at least adjacent said exterior wall, and a longitudinally divided head fitment 22 which is welded to the body 21 so that a portion of a circumferential seam extends above the intersections of a chorded seam between the head fitment dividing wall 51 and the partition wall 26. The upper edge of the partition wall 26 is received and sealed in a channel 65 which extends along the lower edge of the dividing wall 51 and through a skirt portion of the head fitment at diametrically opposed locations. Upper edge portions of the body exterior wall may be folded-over and welded to a frustoconical portion 56 of the head fitment, Fig. 6a, (not shown). The head fitment includes an externally threaded nozzle portion 57 which is closable by a screw cap. The partitioned tubular body 21 is formed from a single laminated sheet, Fig. 3 (not shown), consisting of two polyethylene laminµ sandwiching an aluminium foil lamina. The fin seam at the bottom of the container comprises no more than three layers of the laminated sheet.
