Abstract

150,607. Potter, W. Jan. 21, 1920. Air - pressure sprayers; spraying - machines; roses.-Apparatus for spraying disinfectant or the like in enclosed spaces, of the kind in which liquid disinfectant contained in a reservoir is forced through a system of distributing pipes by compressed air, is fitted between the storage reservoir 1 and the compressed air reservoir 8 with a constant-level tank 3 and a series of distributing pipes 5 each fitted with separate non- return and actuating valves. The tank 3 is fed from the reservoir 1 and the constant level is maintained by a ball valve or the like. Each pipe 5 leads from the tank 3 to a different part of the system and terminates in a suitable spraying nozzle. The non-return valve is introduced into the lateral run of each pipe underneath the tank 3. Each pipe 5 is connected to a pipe 7 in communication with the reservoir 8 and containing a valve inside the box 6 which is opened by operating a corresponding press button 9. By pressing any button, the corresponding non-return valve is closed and the liquid thus trapped in that pipe is delivered through the corresponding spraying-nozzle. The reservoir 8 may be fitted with a safety valve 10, gauge 11, and hand pump 19. The spraying-nozzle comprises one or more wire-gauze screens 12, an expansion chamber 15, and in some cases a disk 14 provided with fine holes or slits.
