Abstract

1506073 Mounting switches SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUR AUTOZUBEHOR GUSTAV RAU GmbH 20 May 1976 [22 May 1975] 20880/76 Heading H1N The housing 20 of a vehicle steering column switch operable by a switch lever is provided with a bearing sleeve 21 having a seat 27 for a bearing 30 positioned between the steering column 26 and a surrounding steering tube 10, the sleeve 21 being securable to the steering tube 10 by a bayonet connecting 11, 23 and being provided with longitudinally directed spring portions 29 projecting beyond the outer circumference of the sleeve 21 so that they are compressed against the steering tube 10 when inserted therein. In one embodiment, the sleeve 21 is provided with three circumferentially spaced studs 23 which are engageable in L- shaped bayonet recesses 11 in the steering tube 10, and with a stud 22 on a spring tongue portion 17 which is engageable in an opening 16 in the steering tube 10. A longitudinal groove (31, 32) is provided on each side of each of three circumferentially spaced, integral springs 29. The locking spring 17 may be replaced by three further springs 29 (Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) which engage with the bayonet recesses 11 in the steering tube 10.
