Abstract
1505858 Compressors and turbines with variable pitch stator blades DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 8 Dec 1976 [12 Dec 1975] 51111/75 Headings F1C and FIT An axial-flow machine such as the compressor of a gas turbine engine has at least one row of variable pitch stator blades 17, each blade being rotatably mounted by means of pivot pins 18, 19 engaging ring members 20, 21. A gear pinion 23 is mounted on the pivot pin 19 and engages a ring gear 25 disposed upstream of the row of blades 17 also a ring gear 26 disposed downstream of the row of blades 17, the two ring gears being supported for rotation about the axis of the compressor within the stator casing 14. One of the blades 17 is formed with an extension 28 of the pivot pin 19 and a lever arm 29 is secured thereto being angularly movable by an actuator 30 such as an hydraulic jack, the rod 31 of which is connected to the lever arm.
