Abstract

1505620 Engine starter drives ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 28 Oct 1976 [29 Oct 1975] 44747/76 Heading F1K [Also in Division E2] In an engine starter drive in which an axiallyslidable starter pinion 11 is shifted by a solenoid 28 acting via a lever 34, the lever is pivoted in a bearing member 30 which internally sealingly divides the gear housing 7 into two compartments 26, 27. The member 30 has a central opening (33), Fig. 4, (not shown), having flattened longitudinal side walls (40), (41) and curved transverse walls (42), (43) corresponding in shape with a member 37 fast with the lever 34. The members 30, 37 are both of plastics. At one end, the opening (33) is formed as a spherical socket 44 with a slot 45 through which the lever passes. A sealing ring 49 is provided in a slot in the member 37.
