Abstract

1505410 "Air filter" CODMAN & SHURTLEFF Inc 22 Dec 1975 [27 Dec 1974] 52336/75 Heading BIT A portable body air filter unit e.g. for operating theatres comprises a housing 11; means for receiving air from a plurality of sources 10, said means having a plurality of parts 41 in facing upwardly or downwardly, means 47 connected to said receiving means for filtering large particles from received air, means 25. 27 located in said housing for creating air flow, said means 25, 27 having an inlet side 33 and a discharge side; means 29 associated with said air moving means discharge for directing air movement out of said housing; and means 55 connected to said discharge for filtering said air with 99.97% efficiency for 0.3 micron dia particles. The filter for large particles 47 may be a batt of fibre glass, or a foam material. The inlet manifold may not be integral with the housing as in Fig. 6 (not shown).
