Abstract

1505160 Dispensing articles from hoppers EFKA-WERKE FRITZ KIEHN GmbH 8 Dec 1975 [14 Oct 1975] 50254/75 Heading B8U Filter cigarette sheaths 12 are fed from a hopper 1 to a shaft 2 from which a predetermined number (one hundred in the embodiment shown) of sheaths is discharged through an ejection opening (17), Fig. 2 (not shown), the shaft 2 being subdivided into seventeen compartments by means of partitions 6 which are suspended with play in slots 21 provided in a frame 11 located below the outlet of the hopper 1, the lower ends of the partitions 6 being located in slots 25 in the shaft base plate 5. An ejection ram (7) comprising parallel pushers 7a is effective to remove the six lowest sheaths, the remaining sheaths being retained in the compartments by suction nozzles 9. The frame 11 is oscillated by an eccentric device 23 whereby the partitions 6, due to their suspension in the slots 21, are also oscillated transversely of their planes and thus cause the sheaths 12 to be braked while falling in the individual compartments, by frequent contact with the partitions.
