Abstract

1504986 Beer dispensing systems WERKHUIZEN JOSEPH VERBEEMEN 25 March 1975 [25 March 1974 18 March 1975] 12466/75 Heading B8N [Also in Division F1] In a beer dispensing system in which the barrel 6 is connected to a gas pressure source 7, a cleaning water supply pipe 13 connected to a source of water under pressure is connected to the gas supply pipe, valves 16, 17 being fitted in the water and gas pipes, respectively, so that the barrel may alternatively be connected to the gas supply or to the cleaning water supply. The valves 16, 17 are controlled in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 by a change-over switch 24, manually operated by push-buttons 29, 30 and a resetting button 28. The circuit includes a pressure detector 38 which prevents opening of the water valve and causes it to close when the barrel pressure is above a given pressure; Non- return valves 45 are included in the gas and water supply connections. A pressure sensor 36 gives indication of low gas pressure from the supply. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4, the pressure detector 38 is replaced by a pressure detector 50 and a liquid presence sensor in the delivery line 3 which operate switches 51, 52 to change-over the valves 16, 17 automatically. The non-return valves 45 are replaced by an automatic three-way valve 48. The gas pipe to the barrel is fitted with a non-return valve 49.
