Abstract
1504978 Refurbishing sliding gate valves METACON AG 22 May 1975 [27 May 1974] 22345/75 Heading F4B In an installation for renewing the refractory parts of sliding gate valve units for casting ladels, the units 2 are dismantled at a station 5 into the slide housing, clamping lid, and the slide part. The slide parts are moved along a loop of workstations 31 for renewal of refractory elements, and the slide housings and clamping lids, after old refractory materials are cleaned out at station 5, are moved along a loop of work stations 11 for renewal of refractory elements. The loop 31 includes receiving arrangements 33 on a revolving table 32 for removal of old refractory parts followed by an assembly arrangement 39 or 40 where the slide parts are provided with new refractory elements set in a bed of mortar and this station is followed by baking ovens 41 or 42 where the mortar joints are dried out. At the end of loop 31 is a final assembly station 51. The loop 11 includes attaching stations 13 disposed about a revolving table 12, each station having a heating device 15. The table carries the sliding housings to a mounting device 16 where new refractory bed plates are set in mortar in the slide housings. The table 12 then brings the slide housings to the final assembly station 51 where a refurbished slide part 34 from loop 31 is installed and the clamping lid is put in place. The clamping bolts of the lid are tightened a sufficient amount to prevent leakage and during this operation the slide part is reciprocated by a power cylinder 53. Refurbished units are transported to a frame 1 for reinstallation on a ladel.
