Abstract

1504965 Record sleeve F H RICE and G ROSS 27 Feb 1975 8242/75 Heading B8K A gramophone record jacket comprises a first pocket portion having an open side which is capable of slidably receiving therein the open side of a second pocket portion in overlapping relationship. The first pocket portion has a front panel 18, a rear panel 17, and an inwardly turned flap 22 on the rear panel and extending along its open side, and the second pocket portion has a front panel 11, a rear panel 12, and an outwardly turned flap 16 on the open side of the panel 12. The panels 11, 18 are completely planar and have a free edge along the open side of their respective pocket. The flaps 16, 22 are arranged to engage one another when the pocket portions are slid apart and the free edges of the panels 11, 18 are then spaced to allow access to the interior of the second pocket. As described, the jacket is formed from two cardboard blanks, Fig. 1, by folding and adhering front panels 11, 18 to rear panels 12, 17 by flaps 13, 14 and 19, 20, respectively. The two pockets so formed are telescoped together with the flaps 22, 16 folded inwardly and outwardly respectively so as to interengage when the two pockets are drawn apart, Fig. 6, to allow a record 24 to be removed from the jacket.
