Abstract

1504540 Soldering IEMME ITALIA SpA 4 July 1975 [19 Feb 1975] 28335/75 Heading B3R A wave soldering machine comprises an inclined track, e.g. parallel guides 1, an endless reversible driving chain 2, a frame 5 fixed to the chain 2 for supporting a plate 6 carrying a printed circuit, a flux tank 7, a crucible 8 having a pump for producing a solder wave and a tray 12 for heating the plate 6. A soldering cycle disclosed comprises moving the plate 6 over the flux tank 7 where the lower surface receives the flux, passing the plate over the crucible 8 (with, however, no solder wave being produced) in order to preheat the plate 6, stopping the plate over the tray 12 which further preheats the plate, reversing the drive of the chain 2 so that the solder wave (now being produced from a mouth 9 by a pump driven by a motor 10) impinges on the plate 6. A pollution control device (Fig. 3, not shown) comprises a hood over the inclined track, a sucking fan and a filter for removing acid fumes and metal vapours.
