Abstract

1504206 Nozzles U EGGERT 20 Feb 1975 7198/75 Heading B2F A nozzle comprises a sleeve 1 having an orifice arid being rotatably mounted on a coaxial connecting sleeve 2 having a socket 24 for connection to a source of liquid, and a valve body 8 in the nozzle orifice and screw threadedly mounted on a rearwardly extending shaft 13, said shaft having a transverse bore through which passes a shaft 14, the latter shaft extending into diametrically opposed openings in sleeve 2 and having one end located in a helical groove 15 in the orifice sleeve, whereby the axial position of the valve body in the orifice sleeve may be altered by relative rotation of the two sleeves and the diameter of the bore being greater than the diameter of the transverse shaft 14 so that the shaft 13 together with the valve body is pivotable within the orifice sleeve. The helical groove may have a pitch which increases towards the nozzle orifice. A rubber sleeve 16 is fitted onto the orifice sleeve. A screw 18 is engageable in a groove 17 in shaft 14, and the position of said body 8 on the shaft 13 is lockable by a screw 22 which is passed through a bore 21 in said body.
