Abstract

1502500 Fluidised bed grid EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 27 June 1975 27321/75 Heading B1F A grid plate for supporting a fluidised bed has nozzles, e.g. 26 Fig. 4, for each aperture, the nozzles having walls diverging at an angle not greater than 30‹ as measured from the vertical axis of the nozzle, the effect being that entrained solid passing with the fluidising gas through the nozzles will pass centrally of the nozzle and avoid sticking and fouling of the grid. The nozzle may alternatively be as shown in Fig. 5.
