1463749 Fluidized bed coating BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 18 Aug 1975 [21 Aug 1974] 36839/74 Heading B5A [Also in Division B1] A fluidizing tank 12 used for coating a dipped pattern with granular refractory material has a porous conical tile 17 supported on and forming the upper wall of a circular chamber 18 into which air for fluidizing is introduced by inlet 19. Particles which are an impurity in the fluidized bed tend to settle out and collect at the sides of the tank and are discharged through the gap between chamber and the bottom edge 12a of the tank when the actuator 20 displaces the chamber.
