1501654 Trailers W KUNZLER 28 July 1975 [21 April 1975] 31424/75 Heading B7B In a vehicle breakdown trailer a wheeled truck having rollers 16, 17 at each side guided in respective U-section girders 3, 4 of an undercarriage is pulled rearwardly by a winch 21 to thus raise the rear end of the undercarriage which carries a wheel supporting structure 8. As shown in Fig. 1, the rollers 16, 17 run into a single girder section 5 and assume a horizontal position to thus raise the undercarriage . The supporting structure 8 has loading forks 10, 11 which are adjustable to span different wheel diameters of the towed vehicle. In a modification, Fig. 5, a cross-bar 26 is inserted in sleeves 27 after the structure has been run under the wheels of an immobile vehicle. In a further modification, Fig. 9, wedge plates 33, pivotable about the ends of the cross member 26, together with locking flaps 36, pivotable about fork shanks 10, are swivelled upwardly to a wheel locking position by an associated winch arrangement 43. The winch 21 which is driven by an electric motor 19 may also be used for pulling a vehicle on to the lowered supporting structure 8.
