Abstract

150,074. Watts, H. J. May 28, 1919. Drilling - machines; drills; chucks.-A device for boring polygonal holes consists of an Oldham's coupling formed by a central disk 7 having pins which engage opposed slots in two outer disks 6 and 8, ball races being interposed between the disks to relieve friction. The cutter has one less cutting-edge than the number of faces in the hole to be bored, and flutes leading from the cutting-edges for the passage of chips. A templet is provided with a hole corresponding to that to be bored against the sides of which bear the non- cutting lips of the flutes.
