Abstract

1500721 Cooling tanks IDDON BROS Ltd 8 April 1975 [9 April 1974] 15621/74 Heading F4H [Also in Division C3] Apparatus for cooling rubber latex or similar strip material comprises a tank 1, a drum 4 rotatable in the tank, regularly spaced guide rollers 6a mounted on a spindle 6 longitudinally of the drum and over which the strip material passes helically around the drum and the rollers from feed rollers 12 at one end of the drum to delivery rollers 12<SP>1</SP> at the other end thereof, and an endless conveyer belt 9 on to which the strip is clipped for helical passage through the tank. The endless belt 9 returns from the roller 12<SP>1</SP> over a roller 10 at the bottom of the tank, diagonally across the tank to a roller 11, and up the side of the tank to roller 12. The apparatus also includes delivery conveyers 13, and gearing 14, 14<SP>1</SP> whereby the drum 4 and the delivery conveyers 13 are driven with synchronous surface speeds. The tank may be either water or air-cooled (Fig. 3, not shown).
