Abstract

1499331 Destructive hydrogenation GULF OIL CORP 25 Dec 1974 [4 March 1974] 28159/74 Heading C5E Deashed solid and liquid fuels are made by a process that is generally similar to that of Specification 1,499,332, except that what is recycled as solvent contains ash, which then acts as a catalyst in the hydrogenation. As shown, what is recycled is part of the bottoms from the flash chamber 48, with or without part of the liquid fuel product 44. At startup, the bottoms from the flash chamber are not filterable. They are therefore recycled in their entirety until they become filterable.
