Abstract

1498731 Valves D J GOLDSMITH 20 Feb 1976 [22 Feb 1975 14 March 1975] 7567/75 and 10697/75 Heading F2V A mixing valve has inlet ports 16, 53 and an outlet port 15 leading to a bore in which a valve member 20 is movable axially to control flow rate and rotationally to control relative inlet flows, the valve member having two arcuate control surfaces 21, 22 each co-operable with separate ones of the ports. As shown the valve member 20 has cylindrical parts 23, 24 closely fitting in bores 51, 52 and made fluid tight by 0-rings 25, 26, 27. Arcuate cut outs in locations 21, 22 co-operate with the inlet port 16 and outlet port 15 respectively. The ports 15, 16 have circumferential and axial edges intersecting at right angles. A control head 33 has a handle 40 pivotally attached thereto by a pin 36 and to the valve member by a pin 32 thus providing for axial and rotational movement of the valve member by the handle. The handle engages a detent pin 43 with the valve member via a projection 41. A screw 44 engages a face 46 to limit rotational movement, Fig. 2 (not shown).
