Abstract

1498378 Wet gas scrubber DUSCON INDUSTRIAL SERVICES Ltd 26 June 1976 26674/76 Heading B1R A wet gas scrubber comprises a section 13 having a gas inlet 16 for injection of a stream of polluted gas tangentially into the scrubber, a. packed bed of rings or saddles supported on perforate cone 17, a scrubbing liquid distributor 19 located above the packed bed and comprising a basin 20 with radiating channels 21 having notches 22 for carrying and distributing the liquid, a gas-permeable filter 40 for drop removal and a clean gas outlet 30. A third gas-permeable filter 25 with associated liquid distributor 26 similar to 19 may be provided between the bed and filter 40. A frusto-conical section 12 comprises a tank for collecting scrubbing liquid, with a gate valve 15 for sludge removal. The liquid is recirculated to the distributors via pump 41.
