1502064 Treating gases with liquids ALFALAVAL AB 26 May 1976 [6 June 1975] 21837/76 Heading B1R An apparatus for cleaning gases with a liquid comprises a tube 1 defining a vertical channel 2, a perforate element 3 extending across the channel and supporting foam, an inlet 4 for dirty gas, an inlet 5 and nozzle 6 for spraying liquid into the channel, a foam inlet pipe 11 and sensors 13, 14 for ensuring that a predetermined height of foam exists on 3 by controlling 11 via valve 12 and transmitter 15. Liquid collects in outlet 7 and part thereof may be recycled to 5.
