Abstract

1498079 Carpets LUCKINGS CONTRACTS Ltd and J R HARRISON 13 May 1976 [13 May 1975] 20044/75 Heading A4S A carpet 15 is laid on a floor 18 around an access hatch 17 by cutting an aperture in the carpet having a shape, e.g. rectangular or circular, corresponding to that of a lip 16 of the hatch, and adhering a strip (10) to the lip and the laid carpet. The strip may be formed of several pieces but is preferably formed in one piece of injection-moulded plastics, e.g. polypropylene or P.V.C. The hatch lid may be covered by a piece of similar carpet. The top leg 11 of the strip may extend beyond the leg 12 to overlie the lip 16, Fig.3 (not shown), or the leg 12 could be fitted around the inside of the lip, or a further leg parallel with the leg 12 may provide with the leg 12 a narrow slot to receive the lip. The adhesive used is preferably rubber based.
