Abstract

1376841 Sweepers BISSELL Inc 18 Jan 1972 [19 Jan 1971] 2448/72 Heading A4F [Also in Division B4] In a floor or carpet sweeper, a friction connection between a handle 3 and a sweeper housing 2 comprises, in one embodiment, integral resilient strips 10, formed between slots 9, 10, which are depressed by edges of a rib 16 on handle 3 when the handle 3 is pivoted. The rib 16 merely abuts the strips 10, however, when the handle is perpendicular or parallel to the housing 2. Leaf-springs Fig.6 (not shown) may replace integral strips 10, and pivoting may be restricted by providing a transverse stop wall Fig.7 (not shown).
