Abstract

1497802 Razors GILLETTE CO 27 Jan 1976 [22 Feb 1974] 8272/74 Heading B4B [Also in Division B8] A shaving unit comprises at least one blade 2 permanently clamped between a cap member 4 and a blade support platform 5 having a guard surface 6 and means 7 for attaching the unit to a handle, the unit being provided with a removable cover member 9 extending over the cutting edge of the blade and affording protection against damage while leaving exposed sufficient of the shaving unit to enable it to be grasped by the user and connected to the handle. The cover 9 may be integrally moulded with the cap member 4 and connected thereto by frangible portions (10) Fig. 2 (not shown) such that when the unit is required for use the cover can be broken away by means of a finger tab portion 11. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the cover 19 is formed separately from the cap member 4 and is made from a resilient material such that it can be clipped onto the cap via a portion 21, 22; a finger piece 23 is provided to facilitate removal.
