Abstract

1456141 Razor blade units GILLETTE CO 8 April 1975 [19 April 1974] 17364/74 Heading B4B A shaving unit comprises a one-piece metal component 1 shaped to provide a guard portion 2 and a cap portion 3, the latter defining with an adjacent part of the guard portion a channel to receive a blade unit 4 permanently secured to the component. The blade unit 4 comprises two blades 9, 10 separated by a spacer, the blades being spot-welded to a platform portion of the component; alternatively, the spacer may be dispensed with, two thicker blades being connected together, Fig. 3 (not shown). The component 1 is formed with portions 7, 8 providing a channel by which the unit may be secured to a handle.
