Abstract
1497462 Weighted buoyant laminates S PRYDZ 13 May 1975 [14 May 1974] 20062/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division E1] An oil burner is produced on site for immediate laying out by withdrawing one or more plastics sheets from storage rollers and forming longitudinal welds which define one or more spaces into which a buoyancy component is then introduced, and adding a weight component. Figs. 1-3 illustrate various arrangements in which the buoyancy material is plastics material 7, foamed in situ, and the weighing material is sand 3 or a metal clamp 10. In Figs. 2-3, a folded single sheet obviates the need for one weld. The foam 7 and sand 3 may alternatively be provided in a single compartment. The apparatus for making the barrier may be mounted on a marine vessel. The welding means may constitute rollers.
