Abstract

1497392 Reciprocating pumps ASL/AIRFLOW Ltd 5 Nov 1976 46218/76 Heading F1A A trigger-actuated, container-mounted spray pump comprises a spring-loaded bucket piston 9 having a dip tube 15 depending therefrom and reciprocal in a cylinder 3 by a trigger 6 pivoted at 23 and having portions 24 engaging beneath a piston carrier 10, liquid entering cylinder 3 via piston check-valve 12 and being discharged via check-valve 18 and nozzle 20. The dip tube assembly has a filter 17 and a groove 14 which bridges sealing washer 13 during the discharge stroke to vent the container. Valve disc 12 is of stainless steel and the other pump components, apart from the springs, are of plastics. Trigger 6 is resilient and has openings snap-engaging pivot bosses 23 for assembly, dismantling being effected by placing a fulcrum 25, e.g. a pencil, as shown, and depressing the trigger to release it from bosses 23. Nozzle 20 is adjustable for spray or jet, Fig. 3 (not shown).
