1496948 Mixed crystals containing calcium aluminate; cement compositions W DOSCH and H C KOESTEL 11 July 1975 [11 July 1974] 29282/75 Headings C1A and C1H Mixed crystals formed during the hydration of aluminate-rich cement are of formula (in which X is NO 2 <SP>-</SP>, SO 3 <SP>- -</SP>, S 2 O 3 <SP>- </SP><SP>-</SP>, Fe(CN) 6 <SP>3-</SP>, PO 4 <SP>3-</SP>, Fe(CN) 6 <SP>4-</SP>, MnO 4 <SP>-</SP>, ClO 3 <SP>-</SP> or CrO 4 <SP>2-</SP>; n is the valency of X; and m is 0À1 to 1À0. Compositions particularly mortar and concrete, comprising the aluminate cement are stabilized by adding 0À05-5 gram equivalents (per mole of Ca in the cement) of anions X so that the mixed crystals are formed during hydration.
