Abstract

1496568 Percussive drill LINDEN-ALIMAK AB 23 April 1975 [7 May 1974] 16919/75 Heading B4C [Also in Division B3] In a drilling apparatus, e.g. for drilling rock, a boom (or pair of angled booms 34, Fig. 1) carries drilling means, such as rotary percussive drill 44 on feed rail 40, and is movable by a boom positioning mechanism rotatably mounted at 4 on to the frame 2. Fluids, such as hydraulic liquid for boom positioning jacks 20, 48, feed tail positioning jack 50 and drill feed jack 56, air for drill rotation and percussion motors, and water for flushing the drill, are fed from the frame through rotary support shaft 4 to the various devices by conduit means, Fig. 2, mounted in the shaft 4. The conduit means is a multi-channel rotor/stator unit which has coaxial, hollow cylindrical stator members 70, 72, mounted on the frame, and an interposed rotor 74 connected to shaft 4 at 126 (and 132, Fig. 6, not shown). Fluids are fed to channels 78, 82 in the stator members and to a doublewalled central conduit 102; the fluids in the stator members pass through communicating grooves and channels 80, 84, 86, 88 in stator and rotor members and leave from the rotor while the fluids in conduit 102 leave through openings 114, 116 in a rotary sleeve mounted thereon Shaft 4 is rotatably driven by drive means, such as hydraulic motor 140, Fig. 8, through worm gearing, not shown, in casing 144 and gearing 146, 148, 156, 158, the latter gear ring 158 being mounted on shaft 4.
