Abstract

1496395 Powder compacting apparatus GLEASON WORKS 29 April 1975 [15 May 1974] 17764/75 Heading B5A In a powder compacting apparatus moulds 14, Fig. 1, are located in openings in a support, e.g. a rotary table 10, and are held by spring-loaded latches 16. The moulds are moved successively through a series of stations and are removed at a dumping station by spring-loaded jaws 30, Fig. 2, normally biased to an open position by the pressure of hydraulic fluid in cylinder chamber 46. Release of pressure from chamber 46 allows jaws 30 to move so as to engage and release the adjacent latches 16 and grip the adjacent mould which is then inverted by movement of the jaws 180 degrees about the axis 32. A holding mechanism 80, Fig. 6, retains the moulded article in the mould until it is released on to a pin 94 when the tail 90 of a lever 82 meets the adjustable stop 92.
