1498665 Releasing articles from moulds AGFA-GEVAERT AG 1 April 1975 [28 March 1974] 13294/75 Heading B5A Moulded articles of silicone rubber, especially contact lenses, are released from a mould by causing the article to swell under the action of a swelling agent, and the swelling agent is substantially removed from the moulded body after release thereof. The swelling agent is suitably an organic solvent (many suitable solvents being listed), especially one in which the swollen article will float, and is removed by heating, either under reduced pressure or under a flow of air.
