Abstract

1496150 Yarn tensioner HACABO - TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH & CO KG 12 Dec 1974 53865/74 Headings DID and D1J A yarn tensioning device comprises two freely rotatably mounted parallel rollers, at least one of the rollers having an outer periphery of elastomeric material, and means for urging the rollers into surface contact to elastically deform the elastomeric material to effect a desired yarn-tensioning, resistance to roller rotation. As shown, Fig. 1 yarn F passes between rubber - covered rollers 2, 3 the roller 3 being mounted on arm 7 pivotable at 8 by micrometer screw 12, 13. Guides 17 one of ceramic material. Roller 2 may be of metal. The yarn may be completely looped around an extension of one roller 20, Fig. 5. The extension may be of different diameter to the roller 20. The rollers may be supported on different rails 40, 41 Fig. 8, one roller being mounted on pivotal arm 48. Rail 40 may be slidable parallel to rail 40 by a micrometer screw and in a creel Fig. 10, the slidable ribs 40 may be slid together by a rod and gear system. One or both rollers may support a dust-removing and cooling fan 62, Fig. 8.
