Abstract

1496039 Strip guides SUNDWIGER EISENHUTTE MASCHINENFABRIK GRAH & CO 3 March 1975 [2 March 1974] 8708/75 Heading B3W In a strip treatment line, spindles 3, form as shown, Fig. 1, carrying discs for keeping separate strips slit at 6 from strip 1b are mounted on respective carriages (4), Figs. 2 and 4, not shown, and can be exchanged simultaneously for further spindles by moving the carriages supporting spindles 3 in operative positions 2c into respective aligned empty stations 2a in a magazine, causing relative movement between the line and the magazine to align stations 2b containing carriages supporting replacement spindles with positions 2c and moving those carriages into positions 2c. Each carriage (4) preferably has a rack, or chain and pinion (6) drive or a common drive may be provided. A frame (7) on the magazine enables it to be attached to a crane hook. A de-burning device and a tensioning device may be provided between the second and third and third and fourth spindles respectively.
