Abstract

The parallel lathe consists of a frame (1) supporting a bench (2) and a fixed poppet (3) with a single spindle (4). The bench has slide rails on which is mounted a carriage (7) which also has a sliding top part (8). Near to the fixed poppet and attached over the slide rails is a spindle head (9) which holds at least two superposed spindles, one of which is connected via a collar to the driving spindle in the fixed poppet, the other being driven by gearing from the first. A mobile poppet, and the other end of the bench, has two counterpoints which are disposed in a vertical plane and can slide in their mountings.
