Abstract

1388335 Selective printing SIEMENS AG 17 May 1973 [3 July 1972] 23461/73 Heading B6F A character printing system includes a mounting able to receive alternatively a type printing unit or a mosaic printing unit. As shown, the system includes a roller platen 1, guide rails 7, 8 for the type printing unit 3 and belt drive 16 for moving the unit 3. The unit 3 has mountings 25 which permit it to be lifted from the bars 7, 8 at the left hand end as viewed and replaced by a mosaic printing unit having identical mountings. Both units have their own electronic drive device 11 and connection 12 which can be removed with the respective unit. Alternatively, the units may be releasably attached to a carriage base permanently movably located on bars 7, 8.
