Abstract
149,596. Tanner, F. T. March 22, 1920. Bunions and the like, treatment of.-A rigid or semi-rigid bar 1 is dished at its widened outer end 2 to engage closely with the inner side of the big toe to which it is connected by an elastic band 3. From the toe the bar extends rearwardly and obliquely over the foot to a point above the foot-arch near the opposite side of the foot. A second elastic band 4 engages the rear end of the lever and passes under the arch of the foot. Preferably the bar follows the curve of the instep so as to lie closely against the foot throughout, its length, and it may be covered with suitable material and the shape in cross-section may be varied.
