Slippers.-A bathing shoe or slipper made of interlaced fabric is fastened by a band b, b<1> of straw or the like laced through the fabric and drawn tight. The band b passes from the back edge of the top opening along the left side of the latter to the front edge and thereupon on the right-hand side obliquely backwards down to the sole c, after which it rises again obliquely to the back top edge of the opening. From this point, now marked b<1>, it passes obliquely forwards and downwards to the sole c, and then obliquely upwards and forwards to the front edge of the opening along the right-hand side to the back. Sole and upper may be made separate, the parts being connected by the band. Pulling on the band reduces the size of the shoe.
