Abstract
1495861 Supports for light-sensitive materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 24 Feb 1975 [22 Feb 1974] 7708/75 Heading G2C Lithographic printing plates have an Al or Al alloy base, A.C. anodized in phosphoric or a polyphosphoric acid, and coated with a light sensitive azide composition. The Al surface may be degreased in Na 3 PO 4, grained either mechanically or electrolytically and rinsed in HNO 3 before anodizing, and coated with a silicate or hydrophilic polymer afterwards. The anodic oxide is said to have pores of 200-400A‹ at a density of 40-120 x 10<SP>9</SP> per in<SP>2</SP>. The light sensitive composition detailed contains Na 4, 4'-diazidostilbene-2, 2'-disulphonate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, hydroxypropyethylcellulose and a violet dye dissolved in cyclohexanone-DMF.
