1495241 Dehydrating aqueous solutions or gels of polymers MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd and KYORITSU YUKI CO Ltd 23 Feb 1976 [25 Feb 1975] 07114/76 Heading C3P In dehydrating an aqueous solution or gel of a polymer of an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate having a quaternary ammonium in the alkyl group, there is first added a divalent metal salt of a strong acid. The solution or gel may be dehydrated by heat drying, e.g. in a drum dryer, by azeotropic distillation or by solvent drying, i.e. contacting with a solvent which extracts the water but does not dissolve the polymer.
