1495208 Screens N GREENING & SONS Ltd 11 June 1976 [20 June 1975] 26244/75 Heading B2H A screen comprises one or more apertured plates 1 of flexible non-metallic material, the or each plate having a plurality of bars 3 projecting from the undersurface thereof, and being supported by bars 5 provided with apertures 6 which receive the bars 3. Each plate 1 may be provided with reinforcing wires or rods (8), Fig. 3 (not shown) and with tensioning wires or rods (9) moulded into the plate, the reinforcing wires extending at right angles to the bars 3 and the tensioning wires being parallel to the bars 3. Alternatively, thin walled tubes (10), Fig. 4 (not shown) are incorporated in the plate during moulding to form bores through which the wires or rods can be threaded. The bars 3 may be formed integrally with the plate 1 or they may be added to a preformed plate. In the latter case, the'apertures lying in a plurality of spaced lines across the plate are formed with a step (7) Fig. 2 (not shown) which assists in holding the moulded-on bar 3 in place. When the screen comprises a plurality of plates 1, the edges of adjacent plates may be stepped and of such a shape as to define apertures into which a material is cast to form the assembled array of plates into a unitary structure. The bars 5 may have different heights to produce a cambering of the screening surface.
