Abstract

1414303 Moulding screens BBA GROUP Ltd 22 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 4161/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division B2] A polyurethane screen formed by casting comprises one or more tensioning-reinforcing members located in one or more ribs on the underside surface of the apertured part of the screen. The tensioning-reinforcing members may be in the form of metallic cables, ropes, rods or wires or of natural or synthetic textile filaments, rods or ropes. The casting die for making the screen may be generally similar to that described in Specification 1,343,431 but with the base of the casting box provided with an array of grooves. The tensioning-reinforcing members are placed in these grooves and may be pre-tensioned. The grooves and the casting box are then filled with liquid polyurethane which is allowed to set to form the ribbed screen.
