1433068 Alpha numeric displays TAMURA ELECTRIC WORKS Ltd 26 Feb 1974 [14 March 1973 (2)] 8556/74 Heading G5C Each elongated element of a digital display device contains a light source 19 and includes a transparent display portion 12 with grid lines 16 formed on the surface nearest the source to provide uniform brightness. The elements are arranged in a number of figure of eight arrays with a common front plate which is masked by material 15 to define the portions 12. The lines may comprise a diffraction grating.
