Abstract

1461501 Matrix displays FUJITSU Ltd 4 Jan 1974 [11 Jan 1973] 00500/74 Heading G5C A screen 22 with a plurality of diffraction holes is placed in front of a display device having a plurality of selectively operated light emitting elements 11 to reduce discontinuities in the displayed pattern. In a gas discharge display/memory panel groups of 4 cells are combined to provide a picture element. Each of the cells has a different brightness so that by selecting cells the brightness of the picture element can be adjusted. The screen brings the apparent centres of brightness of the picture elements nearer to the geometric centre of the elements. The screen comprises crossed wire arrays providing square holes and is rotatably mounted on arms 14 whose length is adjustable. L.E.D. and electroluminescent displays are referred to.
