1495102 Barrel mounting device FORENADE FABRIKSVERKEN 3 Feb 1976 [26 Feb 1975] 4239/76 Heading F3C [Also in Division E2] A barrel mounting device comprises a cradle 12, Figs. 2 and 4, a holder 2 for a barrel of a firearm, legs 1 for supporting the holder 2, a clamping strap 14 which is pivotally mounted on the cradle 12 by a pin 24, and a clamping device 15. The latter has inner and outer clamping handles 28, 29 mounted on an eccentric pin 31 carried by holders 30 which are pivotally mounted to the cradle 12 by an eccentric pin 34. The eccentric pin 31 is adjustable and is locked to the outer clamping handle 29 and the eccentric pin 34 is also adjustable. The strap 14 has a guiding portion 25 which is engageable with a guiding portion 26 of the cradle 12. The outer clamping handle 29 is U-shaped in cross-section so as to be able to enclose the inner clamping handle 28 and the latter has an extension 32 which is engageable with a recess 33 formed by a hook 27 of the strap 14. When the barrel is to be lightly clamped to the cradle 12 by the strap 14, the outer clamping handle 29 is first rotated to the position shown in Fig. 4, the extension 32 of the inner clamping handle 28 is positioned in the recess 33 and the handle 28 is moved in the clockwise direction. When the barrel is to be more firmly clamped to the cradle the outer clamping handle 29 is moved in the clockwise direction so as to urge against the inner clamping handle 28 and increase the clamping action of the strap 14 around the barrel. The legs 1 along with the barrel 3, Fig. 1, support the firearm. The latter is provided with recoil suppressing parts 13a, 13b, Fig. 4, mounted in a holder 16. Each recoil suppressing part has a spring 43, Fig. 6, guides 39, 40 a screw 44 having a head 45, a nut 46 and a guide sleeve 47. A sighting device 4, Fig. 1, and elevation controlling means 5 are provided.
