Abstract

1494333 Centrifugal fluid moving device J P M DELLACHA 11 Dec 1974 [11 Dec 1973] 32171/74 Heading F1C A device for moving fluids comprises a rotary element 7, Fig. 3, in the form of a truncated cone or pyramid, and a rotary or fixed core 9 whose surface converges in the direction of flow towards the inner surface of element 7 to define therewith an annular flow passage 6 which gradually narrows towards the outlet 2. The element 7 is of corrugated form as seen in transverse cross-section, Fig. 4 (not shown), the depth of the corrugations 13 being greater at the outlet end. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the driveshaft extends through the inlet end and is screwed to the core. The device may comprise a number of rotary elements arranged concentrically with one another but having different cone angles.
