Abstract

1494303 Beta-alumina composite EASTMAN KODAK CO 30 April 1976 [2 May 1975] 17741/76 Heading C1J An ionically conductive, crystalline #-alumina composite is made by mixing and reacting together a solution of an aluminium alcoholate with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt; allowing the aluminium hydroxide and the alkali metal salt to co-precipitate as a gelatinous mass; drying the gelatinous mass and thereafter heating it to a temperature less than 1200‹ C.; cooling and grinding the heated mass to a fine amorphous powder and hot-pressing the fine powder to form the composite.
