Abstract

1494125 Comminuting apparatus BLACK CLAWSON CO 10 Jan 1975 [11 Jan 1974] 1158/75 Heading B2A Comminuting apparatus of the known type having a rotor 30 Fig. 3 with rotor vanes 33 operating in a tank and cooperating with a perforate bed plate to refine paper stock, has the rotor modified by reducing its axial thickto increase vortical circulation. The vanes 40 to increase vertical circulation. The vanes 40 may be parallel to the rotor axis Fig. 6 or inclined at 10‹ to 15‹. Fig. 7. Additional inner vanes 58 may be provided Fig. 8 and the vanes may be arranged on elongate blades (61) Fig. 10 not shown and may be formed by straight sections 72, 73 Fig. 11. Angle b is from 45‹ to 55‹ and angle c 30‹. Angle a is the complement of angle b Fig. 3. In Fig. 8 angle c is 20‹ and in Fig. 10 less than 20‹.
