Abstract

1493635 Filters K SCHULTE 24 Oct 1975 [25 Oct 1974] 43916/75 Heading B1D A filter comprises a frusto-conical or conical filter element I having slots 10, covering filtrate-receiving container 2 and extruding into container 3 which has inlet 11 and blades 6 mounted on rotatable shaft 9. In use the blades impel the liquid to be filtered towards the filter element 1 and the separated solids towards the bottom of the filter element for removal through channel 7 and outlet 13. The filter has means for applying a positive pressure to container 3 means for applying suction to container 2. The slots may vary in length. A plurality of filters may be connected in series, the slots of the filter elements decreasing in width in the direction of liquid flow.
