Abstract

1493294 Clutch control, securing handles and disconnecting couplings LAMES SpA 8 Dec 1975 [17 Dec 1974] 50250/75 Headings F2L and F2U [Also in Division E2] In an electric window regulator of the type comprising a grooved drum 20 driven through reduction gearing 13, 14 by an electric motor, an auxiliary handle 31 may be coupled to the drum 20 for manual operation of the regulator, the drive between the gear 13 and the drum 20 being disconnected by a shank 38 which is screwed into the drum shaft 17. The drive between the gear 13 and the drum 20 comprises a splined recess 21 in the gear shaft insert 12 and a splined recess 22 in the shaft 17 on which the drum is keyed. A splined plug 23 is positioned by a spring 24 to engage the splines in both recesses 21, 22 whereby the gear 13 can drive the drum. When the shank 38 is screwed into the shaft 17 the end pushes the plug 23 against the spring 24 until it disengages from the splines in the recess 22. The drum may then be rotated by the handle 31 which has a polygonal cavity 36 which engages a complimentary formation 18 on the shaft 17.
